The regular council meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Adam Smith. Councilwoman Alexander absent.
MINUTES: Minutes from the April 20 2026 meeting read and approved.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Mayor Pro Tem Smith told Council a letter was received from Ohio Gas, they have submitted a request to the State if approved there will be a $2-$3 increase a month.
A request from Maumee Valley Civic Theater was received. Kris looked back and the last few years $50-$100 was donated skipping 2024. Council asked Kris to look back to last years donations. The matter was tabled until the next meeting.
Ordinance 2-26 for the Cyber Security Policy had a first reading. Also present was Solicitor Skaff. He said the policy is not public record, any discussion about the policy would need to go into executive session. Each member was given a copy to look over before the next meeting.
Mayor Pro Tem Smith told Council the National Day of Prayer will be held Thursday May 7th at noon in front of the Municipal Building.

NEW BUSINESS:
UTILITIES: Hydrant flushing will start soon to flush debris and for water turn over.
STREETS AND SIDEWALKS: The crosswalk and stop bar painting has been completed.
Brad told Council there were 5 full dumpsters from Spring Clean Up and 5 scrap dumpsters.
SAFETY: Councilwoman Miller brought up a tree on South Damascus that was thought to be poison Oak. She added, she doesn’t think it is poison oak but it should come down. It is between the sidewalk and the street so it is a Village tree. Brad will take care of it.
PARK: The Friends of the Parks asked if a porta potty could be placed at Steward Park for a preschool field trip. It was found that the field trip is tomorrow and Brad said he can’t get one there that fast. He said a handicap potty is $150 for 28 days with a $70 delivery charge. It was discussed with the upgrades to the athletic court there may be more people using the park Councilwoman Bennett made a motion to put the porta potty there from May 1 to Labor Day, seconded by Councilwoman Miller. All members made a motion by roll call vote.

ZONING: Next meeting will be held May 18th.
FINANCE:
PAY BILLS: Councilwoman Bennett made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Councilman Brown. All members voted yes by voice vote.
