The regular council meeting was called to order by Mayor Jay Branson. Councilwomen Alexander and Bennett absent.

MINUTES: Minutes from the May 18 2026 meeting read and approved.

PUBLIC COMMENT: Mayor Branson wanted to let residents know; the Veteran Banners are not Village sponsored. This is being done by the Historical Society and applications are available by contacting Katy at the Library. He added we are still waiting for approval from Toledo Edison for the pole audit.

Mayor Branson told Council the youth baseball group has applied for grants for fencing around the t-ball field. He said the eventual goal is to place lighting for at least one of the ball diamonds and replace the dugouts. They will present plans to Council when things are ready.

Ordinance 2-26 Cybersecurity Policy had a third reading. Councilman Brown made a motion to pass as an emergency, seconded by Councilman Smith. All members voted yes by roll call vote. Councilman Smith made a motion to pass Ordinance 2-26, seconded by Councilman Brown. All members voted yes by roll call vote.

Mayor Branson added that EK will be at the next meeting to answer Council questions about the cybersecurity. He added that he will also be meeting with Joel Miller and Henry County’s IT person tomorrow about getting IT through the County.

OLD BUSINESS:

NEW BUSINESS:

UTILITIES: Mayor Branson said the lead service line work was done last week and Jake should have a report sometime next week.

STREETS AND SIDEWALKS: Mayor Branson told Council that Brad applied for a grant through the Ohio EPA for salt storage. He said the grant was for $75,000 with a Village cost of $7,000.

SAFETY:

PARK: Mayor Branson updated Council saying the court striping is done at Steward and Memorial Parks. He wanted to thank the Friends of the Parks for getting donations to get this project done.

CEMETERY: Ordinance 3-26 Changing the dates and what would be cleaned up had a 2nd reading.

ZONING: Mayor Branson said there was a meeting last month, we will have an update from Councilwoman Bennett at the next meeting.

FINANCE:

PAY BILLS:  Councilwoman Miller made a motion to pay the bills, seconded by Councilman Smith. All members voted yes by voice vote.
